Nightly DFS picks 05/21/19
Alrighty guys, I am proud to officially introduce a new weekly article writer to our lineup. As many of you know our website covers many platforms around the MLB world and now we get to add another one. As of 2019 Draft Kings and Fanduel have become more popular than ever and their ads are everywhere we look. We have officially found a writer with tons of baseball knowledge and even more nightly DFS experience who will be guiding you guys through the best picks on a nightly basis. On behalf of Unbeatablebaseball we are very excited to welcome Chris Pernell to the team, we came across Chris’s youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/cpennell16/featured) and instantly saw his potential. We know you will all love his articles and hope that they help you win some Draft King and Fanduel contests. Below Chris has listed his favorite spend up pitcher, value pitcher, high end bat, mid range bat, and value bat for tonight on DraftKings for you 05/21/19 slate.
High End Pitcher
Justin Verlander $11,300 SP – Verlander is the clear #1 option for me tonight and will be a priority in all of my lineups. He carries a 2.77 SIERA, 34%K rate, 14.5% swinging strike rate, and is a -350 favorite tonight vs the White Sox. Speaking of the White Sox, the matchup is excellent for Verlander tonight as Chicago is striking out at a 26% clip to righties and just let Brad Peacock mow them down for 30 points. With his elite skill set and the matchup, I look for Verlander to top the slate in scoring and he should be in line for the win as Covey takes the mound for the White Sox.
Spencer Turnbull $7,800 SP – He is going to be very popular tonight but for good reason. He’s below 8k and facing the Marlins and really, that interests me no matter who you are. The Marlins have a league worst team iso and team wOBA to pair with a 27%K rate. He will struggle with lefties but the good thing here is he should only see about 3.
High End Bat
Gary Sanchez $5,200 C – If you watch my videos you know I love spending down at catcher but I will make an exception today as I did yesterday for Sanchez. The Yankees will square off against David Hess who is a total gas can and a bad bullpen. I expect fireworks here. Hess struggles with both sides of the plate specifically righties though. Good news for us is Sanchez is a righty who hits righties very well with a .238 iso. Not to mention in his career vs Hess he is 3/7 with 2 homers. Also, Sanchez has crushed O’s pitching this year with most of his home runs coming against them.
Mid Range Bat
Matt Carpenter $4,200 1B/3B – Carp is a guy I like to play a lot due to him leading off and his price. He hasn’t had a great season by any means so far but we will continue to target him until he does and his price raises. He gets an excellent matchup vs Homer Bailey tonight who gives up a ton of power to lefties and doesn’t strike people out (which is good for Carp because he tends to strikeout at a decent clip).
Kendrys Morales $3,600 1B – Recently traded from Oakland to New York he has had a nice start with his new team. All these Yankees are in play tonight but if we are paying up for Verlander we can’t pay up for every bat we want so let’s get a cheap piece of this offense with Morales who still has power left in his bat, and like I said earlier, David Hess and the O’s bullpen is just not good.
Thank you all for checking out the website and be sure to check out Chris on youtube!
Welcome to the family of Unbeatablebaseball Chris, we hope you can write with us for a long time and we are looking forward to all of the great conversations ahead.
